Lady Di

Palo Verde Blooms

So, I finally got the Diana lens for my camera. For those of you who don’t know, it’s just a cheap plastic lens that attaches to an adapter ring on a DSLR designed to simulate a pinhole camera. Diana cameras are medium format plastic cameras that use 120 film to create over-exposed, heavily saturated, slightly out of focus photos also known as Lomography. (Ha! I know what you’re thinking right about now.) It works best in bright, harsh sunlight which is pretty much all we have here in the Southwest.

I took the camera out yesterday with only the Diana on it to experiment for the first time. Boy, is it fun! You have to shoot in manual and control exposure with ISO and shutter speed, and I don’t think you can truly appreciate the photos until you bring them home and view them with a larger PC monitor. I began with the 38mm wide angle lens, and now I want more!

My husband hates it. He thinks the pictures just look like BAD pictures. I say to each their own. Judge for yourself, and let me know what you think. Do you like this type of photography?

Okay, I really like the Diana lens photos. Reminds me of when we would take pictures on vacation and not be able to see them until the film was developed, only prettier! xxoo

Are you enjoying it? That's all that matters. Are you able to control anything or is it pretty much always a surprise what happens? Stop by soon and let me see.
