Guilt Trip

Shame on me. For the past seven months I woke up at 4:30 AM to go to work and never missed a post, and yesterday was my first day of unemployment and I FAILED. See? I’m becoming a slacker already.

I have to admit that it was nice to not wake up to an alarm clock. We had a nice lunch with family and then took advantage of the unusually cool Arizona weather to do some work in the yard.

Speaking of the yard, remember when I told you I was an impatient gardener? Well, I have pepper sprouts!

So there may be hope for me yet.

Accidental Gardener

I have never grown anything from a seed, but Nancy gave me some nasturtium seeds a couple of weeks ago and they've started to come up.

No luck so far with the "donkey tails" that I was told were impossible to kill. :-)

Come on up, guys! I'm "rooting" for ya!

Funeral For A Finch

 finch
One of the House Finches that visit my bird feeder flew into our sliding patio door this past weekend and died. It was one of the pretty red males.

A female lit on the block fence and sang a sad and lonely song for him as we gathered him up and sent him to his final resting place.

Life is so fragile.

But It Was On Sale

Is it still an impulse buy if you've picked it up on five shopping trips and put it back on the shelf on four of them?

Oh, yeah. Everybody is a comedian.
