The Last Holiday of Summer (Wave Goodbye)

DSC_3787
Boats bob in the harbor
bidding adieu to the balmy days of summer
with all its pretty baubles, bangles and beads,
and boisterous weekdays;
believing that Fall, boasting brash fiery colors,
and brisk morning walks, comes soon
surely to be followed by winter’s belligerent blustery winds.

“Boo hoo!” bawl the boats.

As do we all.

I'm ready to say bye-bye to summer!

I love the repetition of the 'b' sounds. It sounds like the boats are b-b-blubbering as they bid bye-bye to summer. Nice 55, Tracy.

I'm waving goodbye but I'm not happy about it!

I'm not boo-hooing over fall - I love it! (Winter? Not so much!)

Poignant 55, Tracy!

Oh boy, does that harbor scene look refreshing! Fall is in the air, at least it feels like it early in the mornings here. :)

The alliteration added such a wonderful dimension to this terrific 55. I have to confess I love autumn and can't wait for it to arrive, but I always do miss the more laid-back feel of summer.

Terrific reflections and I suspect the boats aren't the only ones saying "boo hoo"! We really haven't had much summer here in the northwest this year and I'm a little reluctant to see it go! Hope you have a great Labor Day weekend!

I'm crying along with the boats. We already have trees turning colors. Well, that might be because it got so dry, but still.

Great job, Tracy! I have to say also that I'm happy to see our summer leaf into fall...:)

But boats love blustery winds. It's the sailors that don't.

My favorite time of year in Indiana is fall. It's an ahhhhh time. No more yard work for awhile, time to drag out the sweatshirts and jeans. I love to snuggle up on my patio with a big pillow and a quilt and fall asleep in the chilly night.
