Sometimes interesting shots come from making the most boneheaded errors. This is what happened while trying to take a photo out by the pool one evening. I must have pushed the remote before everyone was ready.

She’s A Beauty
This is my great-niece, Kaylee, enjoying a mimosa blossom. A precocious six year old who will be entering first grade this fall, she rivals Marilyn Monroe when she sings Happy Birthday in her “pretty voice”, knows the secret recipe for fairy dust, and spent the better part of an hour one day telling me how she had met “the one” - the love of her life - on the school bus.

Au Revoir
My Mom and niece have been visiting the past week, but today they are going back home. We had a fabulous time, and we gave my Mom a surprise birthday party to celebrate her belated 85th. In my mind, she has always been royalty. Hopefully we made her feel like a queen for at least a day anyway.
Safe travels! Love you both!

Mothers & Sisters
Last night my husband's family arrived. We spent the evening catching up, eating pizza and looking at old photos.
I love looking at pictures of my husband and his family before I was a part of it. I like to think I brought some class to it. (Okay, maybe not.)
"Look how skinny I was!"
"What happened to my boobs?"
When a picture of someone's first husband found its way in front of the stack: "Oh my GOD!"
{CENSORED} "What kind of nut was HE cracking?"
This is gonna be a good week.
